At shutdown, I see the “Connection Tracking Daemon Not Running” message.
I am wondering what it is ?
I think it is for Connection Tracking WebGUI page:
https://ipfire:444/cgi-bin/connections.cgi
I am mostly sure I get the same message. Next time I restart or shutdown I can check.
Hi, similar observation here. What do you see when you type /etc/init.d/conntrackd status?
Seems with 2.27 update 161 the file /etc/conntrackd/conntrackd.conf is missing, therefore the conntrack daemon is not starting.
Hi,
looking at the commits related to conntrackd
, this behaviour seems to be somewhat intended.
Not being involved with this, my guess conntrackd
is required for special setups, and there is no need for this daemon to run on an “ordinary” IPFire installation (personally, I cannot recall to be ever in need of it).
However, the entire thing is rather sketchy, perhaps @ms can elaborate a bit more on it so a proper documentation can be added.
This sounds like this file was present before upgrading to C161. Is this true or did I misunderstood you?
Thanks, and best regards,
Peter Müller
Yes, this has been around for a long time.
We could potentially make conntrackd an add-on since only very few people use this.
