i am so happy, wireguard is getting supported. But in my case it is very slow, like really slow. Speedtest.*net make around about 1-2 Mbits only. With Openvpn, which is supposed to be slower i get easily more then 10 Mbits.
i am using the same Dyndns as i am using for Openvpn. I tried Port 4443 instead of 51280 as well, no difference. The connection is working fine. It is just soooo slow.
I tried it on different devices as a client, i made different clientpackages, but i get the same situation every time.
Do you have any idea what could cause that?
I deactivated IPS, but that is not making any difference.
this seems to be some problem somewhere, because our benchmarks have shown different results:
You might either have a device in the middle that struggles with UDP traffic (maybe even causes packet loss). You might have a fragmentation issue (but that should not impact throughput that much). Or you simply have hardware that is struggling - did you check CPU load?
I am using APU2 Hardware. CPU is at 4%, sometimes peaks out up to 60% (But not during benchmarking). I read it should make up to 100Mbit.
The weird thing is that i can directly compare it to OpenVPN, it is just worse. The mainrouter has open Ports for getting through to Ipfire. Do you have any ideas to test?
There are not many things i can change, i suppose
Post scriptum:
I just tried it within the same setup with the fritzbox. There it is running fine and fast. So guess it is something about the Ipfire setup itself…
