I have a suggestion, instead of using Link HTTP, change it to use ---- and see if this makes a different. I just tried it on a network where there are no HTTP options on any of the machines except 6 Linux machines. As soon as I chaged to HTTP all the windows machines went inactive, or had no status. Also only use check IP if the IP is statically assigned via MAC on DHCP or manually, if they change every few days rather do the check via FQDN.
See how that goes and come back to us.
cheers
I Tried your suggestion but no change…
FYI alle the machines named here have a http options and all of them have static IPs
Ciao Gerd
All same subnet?
The machines are not running their own firewalls that are over reacting?
I see #14 is a different IP from the others, and says vserver, are they all on a virtualised enviroment?
Any IDS/IPS running?
Antivirus software or some such that is going nuts?
Trying to get as much info as possible so we can start disecting what is borked.
Hi,
can you ping the clients from the IPFire Console?

Yes, all of them…
Hi !
Nearly all of them (except one) are in this subnet…
The other one is via vpn connected to ipfire, also pingable… like all of them
IDS is running on ipfire…
I remember on a previous version from “who is online” months ago everything was fine… this is my first setup with the new version.

Hi,
please switch off IDS and then try to manually update a client in WIO …

error closing /usr/sbin/sendmail: (exit 16896)
Ok auth.conf was not readable by others… i changed it and it works now…
should it bee that this file is only readable by owner and group ?
Or was it a mistake…
Ciao Gerd
can you please post the result from:
cat /var/log/wio/wioips
and
cat /var/ipfire/wio/wio.conf
Hi !
Sorry the post was lost… it seems the Problem was the auth file for emails…
it was only owner and group readable… i extended it to others and then it worked…
Ciao Gerd
