I have unfortunately lost some data the I had stored on /tmp on my development CU 201 system after some process had cleaned /tmp overnight. This does not happen on my other CU 188 system so there must have been some modification since CU188 to introduce this ‘feature’.
Can someone identify which process cleans /tmp so that I can turn it off please.
Thank you for the suggestion, but I don’t think this was run overnight or at least before 3AM when an empty backup was taken by my backup server. I think there must be something else run on my CU 201 system that didn’t happen on CU 188.
On closer investigation /etc/rc.d/init.d/cleanfs may well be the reason as it appears there has been a unintended system reboot yesterday evening that I was unaware of.
This seems to be a completely random event and does not seem to have been initiated by any process running on ipfire, so it may well be a hardware issue.
Thank you for the pointer as it did make me look closer.
