Visitor automatically connecting my wifi

Hi there previous month I had attempted to connect a “smart device” to my network by “Disable MAC Address filtering for ALL clients”, which still didn’t work. so I ended up returning the device and giving up trying. Today I had a visitor who was able to connect my wifi without any password or mac address approval from me. Now I am paranoid that I have destroyed the firewall.

where/how do I look to confirm my system is still secure? But before replying please know I have no idea what I am doing, and please explain as if you are talking to a 4 year old.

Thank you

 I think that in your case, reinstalling and reconfiguring will take less time.

After reinstalling, set everything up “manually”, don’t restore settings from a backup, because you don’t know what you did wrong and you don’t know what that visitor did.

Regards

ps.

Are you using this?

that’s most unlikely, sorry ^^

hostapd - the Software that provides the WLAN AP - is not known to have such vulnerabilities

The Visitor probably had your WLAN PW at some point which was never changed
