VDSL DHCPCD Duplicate Address Detection

I was unable to get a DHCP address on the red0 port on my ipFire router. After discussing the matter with Verizon support, it appears that the problem lies between the old Verizon VDSL modem and the ipFire router. ChatGPT provided the fix. On the console, enter “dhcpcd --noarp -4 red0” The --noarp option disables the sending of ARP probes to check for duplicate IP addresses, effectively disabling duplicate address detection. Worked like a charm.
