Update 204 error

When updating IPFire from 203 to 204, Packfire finished with error :

So what to do ? Is it important ?

Probably nothing based on the snippet of the log you have shown.

This section shows that it tried to download the update for perl-common-sense from the mirror ipfire.earl-net.com and ended up with an HTTP Status Code of 500.

It then moved to another mirror, ftp.belnet.be and was then able to successfully download the perl-common-sense update and got an HTTP Status Code of 200.

So there will have been some issue with the mirror status for the perl-common-sense addon on ipfire.earl-net.com and it was able to successfully download from another mirror.

It would only be a problem if you had an HTTP Status Code 500 for a package that continued giving 500 for several servers and eventually pakfire would stop trying to download and so the update would not complete.

You should look through that pakfire log and see if all HTTP Status Code 500 events were able to become HTTP Status Code 200.

  • If yes then your update completed successfully.
  • If that was the only 500 code then it was successfully downloaded from another mirror and your update will have updated successfully.
  • If no then you need to show that section of the pakfire log.

Just for your folks information, I had the exact same thing happen with my update.
