Update 184 / Backup from squidclamav has 0 bytes

Hi,
I noticed, that after I have installed the update of 183 to 184.
That the backup file of the Squidclamav is 0 bytes long.

See picture here:

But everything is working and the service is also running.

Is this correct ?

Best regards
R.

Squidclamav was removed from IPFIre back in Core Update 177 in August 2023.

See the release announcement for details.
https://www.ipfire.org/blog/ipfire-2-27-core-update-177-released

The version that was in place was from 2012 and any newer version would require a new type of installation as it required ICAP for its operation but still would only deal with http websites and would not filter or block any https websites due to the traffic being encrypted.

If you still have the squidclamav binary in place then your Core Update 177 update did not occur correctly as it removed all squiclamav files if squidclamav was installed.

Hi,

Should i deinstall and install the program again to fix the problem ?

No, it is no longer available on the IPFire servers and cannot be installed or re-installed.

Hi,
so what about this software ?
Screenshot_20240325_184009

Is this the correct version and does this software has no configuration setup to backup ?

How can I get rid of the wrong entry within the backup settings ?

Best regards

That is clamav, not squidclamav.

clamav is still available on IPFire.
squidclamav is no longer available on IPFire.

You can’t correct it as it is no longer available on IPFire.

For some unknown reason during the CU177 update your squidclamav entries were not removed. However the backup/includes files were updated and therefore there is no longer any include file for squidclamav that defines what files should be backed up as there should no longer be anything to backup.

My guess is that the backup include is still there but the config file to backup does not exist anymore so it result in an empty backup archive.

check /var/ipfire/backup/includes/ for the leftover squidclamav file.

Hi,
I check the folder and did not found a configuration file. See here

Hope this helps

Do i have to delete only the file “squidclamav.ipf” from a old backup ?

You can delete it on the wui backup page.

If you hold your mouse pointer over the green trashbin symbol you should get the word delete.

If so then if you press that button it will delete the squidclamav backup and you won’t see the 0 bytes entry anymore.
