Transparency mode

Will the IPblocklist work when my firewall is in transparency mode?

Hello @insolencee,

To understand how the IP blocklist will work when your firewall is in transparent mode, it’s beneficial to differentiate between the operations of the firewall and those of the proxy, which operates in transparent mode specifically for unencrypted traffic.

The firewall operates at layers 2 and 3, overseeing network and link processes, while the proxy functions at the application layer, a higher layer in the network protocol stack.

In this context, to manage traffic through the proxy (pertaining only to outbound traffic), you would leverage ACLs (Access Control Lists), instead of relying on the settings of the firewall. Utilizing ACLs will facilitate the necessary control over the proxy’s traffic allowances and restrictions.
