Support for Rtl8812au wireless chipset

Hi,

I have TP Link USB wireless adapter that uses RTL8812AU chip. To be able to use the adapter on regular distros, I simply install dkms package for the driver for this chip set which is easily available online.

I want to know how do I make the driver work with IPFire. I am guessing this involves re-building kernel with the driver module - something I haven’t done before - could someone guide me in the right direction.

Alternatively, how do I request support for inclusion of the driver in future version of IPFire - an awful lot of USB adapter available in my country use this chip.

Have you plugged the device into an IPFire box and checked “lsmod” to see whether or not relevant drivers are loaded ?

I do see my device when I run lsusb but lsmod returns no driver
