Slow connections

Hi,

I’m an absolutely newbie using IPfire, but I think the interface and the features looks very promising.

I have been running OpenWRT for quite some time now on a Raspberry Pi 4 with model B Rev. 1.4 with 4GB memory. The Raspberry itself has a 1 GB NIC “red network” and I have attached a 1 GB USB nic for the “green” network. Usin speedtest from my connected clients I can get about 800/120 Mb down-/upload.

I have then tried to install IPfire (2.27 core 181) instead on the Raspberry Pi and now I can only get about 240/80 Mb down-/upload. I would however suspect that I should be able to get at least about the same performance as I do using OpenWRT. I have not configured any kind of QoS or anything else. I did however try to enable the “Intrusion Prevention System” using the Snort provider, but it didn’t effect the down-/upload at all.

I have been looking around to see if I could find something useful on how to solve the issue, but as I obviously am not a IPfire expert I’m reaching out for help.

At the moment I am obviously sticking to OpenWRT due to the speed, but I can easily switch over and try different suggestions on my IPfire config.

Also I can see that some users in here has set a link to their configuration and I did find a place in IPfire to upload the config, but I can’t figure out how to link to it here.

Thanks in advance for suggestions!
