I have spent some time setting this up as described here.
Is this unnecessary with the ip block list.

It is an wiki.
I wouldn’t delete knowledge and expertise, it serves others as an example for upcoming topics/lists.
A note to and link to “IP Address Blocklist” can be added.

I would agree to not.remove this info from the wiki. It is good info for all sorts of blocking rules.
With that in mind this was usefull for me.
I thank you for your expertise.
Your suggestion to add something to the Shodan
Wiki to point to the easier solution being the
“Ip block” would probably be nice.
