Proxy log - How can the full URL visited be seen?

Hello,

I’m very pleased with my IP Fire system and have just started using the proxy feature.

When looking at the “Proxy Logs” in the “Website” column it shows the website visited (e.g. www.youtube.com:443) however it does not show any further detail on the the full URL that was visited (e.g. https://www.youtube.com/c/NicksGarage).

On the “Advanced Web Proxy Configuration” section of the Network → Web Proxy page from the main menu I have the “Log query terms:” box ticked and the Logs → Log Settings page has the “Log Summaries” → “Detail Level” set to high.

Is it possible to show the full URL in the “Proxy Log” screen so we can see exactly what has been viewed by the remote user on the network?

Thank you in advance for your assistance

Hi,

glad to hear that, thanks.

Unfortunately not, since with HTTPS, only the queried FQDN is visible to the proxy. Any further details, such as the complete URL, are protected by transport encryption, thus cannot be logged.

Sorry to disappoint, and best regards,
Peter Müller
