PPPoE leftovers

I had my IPFire Appliance connected via PPPoE. Due to circumstances, I had to switch my RED interface from PPPoE to DHCP. There seem to be PPPoE leftovers, that still try to initiate a PPPoE connection, and fail. How can I make PPPoE go away? How can I completely clear my RED connection and start again. I could reinstall, but I hope there’s an easier way.

You can run “setup” from console
and re configure your red interface…
Then reboot IPFire_.

I did run /usr/sbin/setup and changed the type from PPPoE to DHCP, and rebooted, but, when I tell ipfire to connect, some remnant PPPoE code runs, loads the pppoe plugin and fails to connect. In /usr/sbin/setup, they apparently don’t reset the settings when one changes interface type. I want to know where/why the PPPoE stuff is invoked, and what to delete to stop it.

I’ve never used that command…
