I am traveling right now and trying to use the OpneVPN.
My remote device (Android or Windows) it is connected and OpenVPN seems to be working, but my remote device IP address is still seen as part of the country I am in. This is over hotel WiFi or cell data.
If I try “what’s my IP address” it shows Italy. I get Google ads for that county.
Can this be changed?
Have you got your openvpn client set up to route everything over the vpn tunnel?
My system, that i am currently using for this communication, is showing my ip from my ipfire server end.
I just turned off, on my client, the route all traffic over the vpn option and then my ip is being shown as my local location ip.
I thought that’s the default?
In my client it is selected to route everything for IPv4, IPv6 is blocked.
LE: I set the IPv6 to be routed too and that fixed it. Even if it was blocked…
