If you are using a windows client the likelihood is that the issue us due to how windows deals with the auth-nocache directive.
This directive was removed in CU199
https://git.ipfire.org/?p=ipfire-2.x.git;a=commit;h=e3e4d6fe8ab6b3e60157be3b2b08aa5fa2d05b67
Try out removing the auth-nocache line from your client config.
Thanks for the quick reply!
In this case, the auth-nocache directive is already disabled. The vpn-password was saved during initial setup a few years ago. Now it is suddenly being requested again. The user is using Windows 11.
Unfortunately then i can’t help further.
I knew that auth-nocache was a problem for windows but if that is already disabled i have no further input.
I don’t have any windows systems at all so have no ability to test or evaluate anything.
Sorry.
IPFire 2.27 - Core Update 169 - released July 2022
OpenVPN-2.5.7 - released May 2022
It is now February 2026.
I think you should update your software as soon as possible.
