Netsnmpd listen to port 199 and 161

Hi everbody !

I see with Netstat command that snmpd listen to port 199 and port 161:

tcp 0 0 0.0.0.0:199 0.0.0.0:* LISTEN 0 139769268 6941/snmpd

udp 0 0 192.12.12.12:161 0.0.0.0:* 0 139769267 6941/snmpd

Is it normal that it listens on both ports and not only on 161 ?

Thanks
Mickaël

Hi,

i think that this could be the smux master-agent from netsnmp.
I found a discussion about this here:
https://net-snmp-coders.narkive.com/L3aLkKlB/smux-and-net-snmp-both-are-trying-to-use-199-port

Turn it off:

Thanks Silvio,
It’s OK now…snmpd listen only on port 161
Many thanks
