Hi, I have entered the wrong password when trying to access ipfire via ssh and now it locks out any connection from the laptop. It seems as if it is “blacklisting” my laptop. Fortunately, I can access the web frontend of ipfire from another laptop. Is there a way to “unlock” my laptop?
Do you have Intrusion prevention System enabled? Maybe one of the rules has a prevention brute-force attack included.
Regardless, you should use a public key login.
Thank you very much for your answer. I found out what caused the lock-out. I had Guardian switched on. After stopping Guardian I was able to log in again. Now I have enabled Guardian again and I can login via ssh to IPFire.
