I recently swtched my home network over to IPfire. Since this change the “Stamps dot com” application on one of the PC’s no longer works. It comes up with a generic error stating multiple things that could be the issue. My firewall is the only peice I changed recently so.
I normally use openDNS. I disabled that and use the ISP provided DNS and also 1.1.1.1 and 8.8.8.8 and still get the error.
I disabled URL filtering.
I disabled IP Filtering.
I disabled Intrusion Prevention.
I disabled Location blocking.
Currently have all this disabled and the application still comes up with this error.
I wanted to toss this out there to see if anyone else has run into this issue and may know the solution?
I can reproduce this. stamps.com does not resolve for me, but “is it down or just me” sites say that it is up. Have you tried turning off “Drop packets from and to hostile networks” located at Firewall→Firewall Options?
Edit: I take that back. I just tried again and the website loaded fine.
Thanks for the quick reply. After about 10 minutes it started working. So either the site that the application access’s happened to be down or its one of the items I shut off. I am slowly Re-enabling everything and monitoring.
