IPS can not start

I have just noticed, that my IPS is not working anymore. It was running, but somehow it can not be even started now.

Hi,

as usual, please include detailed information to your posts:

• What’s in the logs?
• What happened since the time your IPS worked?
• What happens if you run /etc/init.d/suricata restart on the command line?

Unfortunately, simply stating “X does not work” is way too little information for us to help you.

this seem to fix it, so the IPS is active now! Thanks!
Is suricata the IPS itself?
