Ipfire3 status?

Is ipfire v3 dead?
It appears the latest image is from 2018 and I cannot get any of the images to boot.

Thanks

Hello Brian - Welcome to the IPFire community!

There are lots of previous posts about IPFire3.x. Some of them can be found here:

Hi,

just a very short update on this front: @ms is working on Pakfire, the build system for IPFire 3.x, and there is a lot of work going on behind the scenes.

While IPFire 3.x is unfortunately not near an alpha release state yet, we are working on it, and it is not dead. In fact, with things like IPv6 becoming more and more pressing, the necessity for it is very clear to us.

Thanks, and best regards,

Thanks. I am willing to be an early tester, even pre-alpha.
I have a fair amount of equipment including servers running esxi and proxmox.

All the best,

Brian

Hi,

thank you very much for volunteering and sorry for my late reply.

Frankly, I am currently a bit out of sync regarding the state of IPFire 3.x and Pakfire. Therefore, I would like to await the next telephone conference, to clarify where we currently are and what kind of support/testing/… is already possible.

Thanks for you understanding, and best regards,
Peter Müller
