Just a question: is it normal that my Logs of IP address blocklists is full of entries that say that there were too frequent update attempts?
Yes.
The various sources have rates varying between every 5 minutes and every 12 hours.
When the update check is carried out the IPS code checks current time against the time an update was last carried out and if that delta is less than the rate definition then it will not attempt a download and will write “Too frequent update attempts”.
Wonderful, thanks for the explanation!
