The new Wi-Fi network privacy setting in iOS14 called “private address” hides the MAC address. With it turned on, I can make internal connections, but Internet connections are denied. Is this something I just need to leave off?
Hi Bill!
I have iOS 14 (14.0.1) running and private address turned on. All works A-OK for me.
Do you see any error messages on the iOS device? or error messages in the IPFire logs?
EDIT: I am running core 150
I figured it out. Turning on private addressing changes the iPhone’s Wi-Fi MAC address. I deleted the original MAC from the firewall’s Fixed DHCP and Blue Access lists then reassigned the new MAC in both. Disco!
