Installing and using the Transmission addon inside IPFire, can it compromise the security of the firewall?

Anything running on the firewall increases the surface of attach for an adversarial actor. Everything is a tradeoff. You need to balance the cost vs the benefit of your configuration. Personally, I prefer to run those things not on my firewall. Others can make a different decision due to their different evaluation of the cost vs benefit analysis.

I fully agree with that. I had already assumed what you said. I wanted to compare with other people and came to the certainty that we are right.
I think this applies to any server: more services, more risk.
I think for torrents, I will put on another server.
