Is there a way to update glibc
without updating IPfire Core?
I noticed some addons are complaining about wrong Glibc version.
iperf -c 192.168.1.125 -d
iperf: /lib/libc.so.6: version `GLIBC_2.38’ not found (required by iperf)
Core180 announcement included updates to "glibc 2.38, GCC 13.2.0 & binutils 2.41. "
I am just not comfortable updating core and rebooting right now…
I think I saw the same error with apcupsd
ms

Is the reboot after updating really necessary?
If the reboot message is present then yes it is required.
This is definitely required if a new kernel is installed. If you don’t reboot after installing a new kernel then the system stays running with the old kernel.

I am really happy you convinced me to upgrade to 182. just in time before 183 came out.
I was worried but after reboot all went well.
Not looking for an update anytime soon
