Normal this a a uniqe hardware ID generated from smbios fields like serial number.
but some systems has empty or equal fields in the smbios. In this case IPFire should fallback to uuid.
Run sendprofile --hardware-string
If both systems output the same post it here that we add it to list of unuseable strings.
Interesting, I have one of my IPFire systems having the same Profile ID as @cibgiu mentioned.
Could you please send the output of ‘sendprofile --hardware-string’?
022bf682-bda3-40a3-a57d-b4e95a4b36e9
And in which file in /sys/class/dmi/id is this ID?
None of them.
Is this potentially the ID of your hard drive?
It is not the uuid of any of the disk partitions. I was able to check those in /dev/disk/by-uuid.
It is also not the SSD serial number or the device model as I could find that on the media page under the SMART info.
strange this id not match to cb1c468b17369db11cde5b284d654c522703ea90 (two times sha1)
Very strange indeed.
Just checked and cb1c468b17369db11cde5b284d654c522703ea90 is still what is showing up in my IPfire System Information page.
I will probably do a fresh install and restore and see what happens but before I do is there anything you woulds like me to check or evaluate to better understand what might be happening here?
Hi all,
sorry for the late reply, here my data:

G.
board_serial and chassis_serial seem to be uninitialized. They are just a sequence of the first 9 non-zero decimal digits doubled.
So my computer is also a Jetway system but NF533.
The product_uuid that I have is identical to @cibgiu as is my board_serial and chassis_serial numbers.
The only thing that seems to be different for @cibgiu and me is that his hardware-string is the same as his product_uuid whereas mine is different but we still both end up with the same overall Profile ID.
I also tend to get an error 404 when I click on my profile ID link but if I then switch off providing the profile and then turn it back on again then clicking the number does appear to get my profile in that it is for an NF533 and has all four network interfaces.
