Hey everybody, I am new here at the IPFire community.
Is the BPi-R4 supported by the latest version of IPFire?
Thanks in advance for your reply.
@pscar13 did you delete your answer because you’re unsure or doesn’t it work?
Sorry,
I replied too quickly because I thought you were talking about the Raspberry Pi 4.
otherwise see the Info for the ARM version
Okay, no problem.
I’ve already looked that info page but haven’t found the Banana Pi BPi-R4 at all.
So I hope, someone have tried already to install IPFire on it.
I was going to roll a version up when I get one and if one wasn’t working, but theoretically it should work.
So you would just try it?
yes, because one of the instruction sets should work, and I think what is not going to work is the special processing features. Since Ubuntu already has a processor profile for the bananna pi, I can either port it into ipfire, or just roll a new os using ipfire and ubuntu source codes.
But I’ll find out here in a week or so since I put the logic board kit on order last night. Even though I want to use one as a NAS server w/o the wifi modules, I’ll use it to work out ipfire with.
I would be happy to hear about your experience with it
