Does this happen to you too

hi
after so many serious posts with problems and reports I wanted to ask who among you has ever washed in the dishwasher the appliances you use

this question came to me today while searching on amazon

 :joy:

That is very funny to see.

I have seen it the other way where information is given that an electric kettle is not safe to put in the dishwasher but I have never seen that electronic items are considered dishwasher safe.

That has made my day.

Actually, I planned on getting the new Mini Appliance but you can’t compete with that… sorry LWL!

Damn, I don’t even have a dishwasher.

I am sorry to disappoint, but the Lightning Wire Labs appliances are sadly not dishwasher-safe. They don’t spin, iron or tumble dry either.

If they have collected a little bit of dust I recommend a slightly damp cloth and giving your appliance a little bit of love

Oh, but they are! I tried, and the dishwasher removed all cookies and unwanted IP:s. As an extra it cleaned the Internet trash around the neighborhood, if I keep the cable connected to RED :joy:

This is not the video I was looking for.

I continue to clean with spray and wipes
besides not trusting the various influencers I don’t have a dishwasher

I can’t help but wonder if the electronics in those keyboards will corrode and rust over time. So, I’m asking myself: how long will those keyboards actually last?

For 30 years, I have washed my keyboards in the upper rack and they all worked fine.

But I also use a dishwasher to wash PCB I repair too.

A lot of computer boards get washed in a dishwasher like machine after soldering at an assembly factory.

This is true. Only some component types cannot get washed. Things like piezo speakers and relays typically get installed after wash with a type of solder flux called “no-clean”, instead of the typical water-soluble flux.

I don’t want to question that some electronic components can be washed in the dishwasher
but I think the point is different, the router in the photo, has the power stage and it seems that it also has fans, it certainly won’t have speakers, what is the point of putting it in the dishwasher to wash it, if there is dust the best way to clean it is to open it anyway then if you want to do it in the dishwasher it will do its best, but closed I don’t know how much it can do

Do you need to pre-rinse?

I recall the olden days (1980’s) of the IBM labeled Cherry Keyboards (for 3270 terminals and early PC’s).
You could take the keys apart, clean and rinse and reassemble the whole thing.
So back then spilling tea, coffee, softdrinks or bread crumps etc. onto the keyboard was not an issue.
(The keys even had additional detachable caps with the key designations. So a “popular” IT Support practical joke was moving them around making YTREWQ keyboards )

I think I still have a couple of those keyboards lying around in some box

However, seeing your comments, it seems to me that apart from keyboards, no one washes other devices in the dishwasher

electronics people have been washing a lot of things. But if you wash fans, let them dry out.

Of course fans are more fun to wash under the faucet … and watch them ‘‘Zooom’’’

But I bet you never heard of a toaster oven being used to rework surface mount electronics either…

I think this thread has reached the end of it “Best before date”.
