DNS-Server: local recursor

Hello,

I’m using IPFire for years, now I have some mystery behavior

After a reboot the IP adresse of DNS-Server vanish (at “Startseite”) and “local recursor” appears. If this happens the IPS logs hundreds of DNS queries. When I use setup-tool to update the DNS-server adress at the network-settings the DNS queries in IPS protokoll stops.

Any idea?

Hi,

we test the DNS servers if they are suitable for use, i.e. support DNSSEC.

If those packets are being dropped, the test is unsuccessful and we won’t use the DNS servers. Are you sure those are correct alarms from the IPS?
