DHCP client issues on RED interface

It appears that if IP fire does not get a DHCP address on the red interface at boot, it gives up an will never try again. This is really frustrating for me. When my power goes out and comes back on IPFire is active before my modem syncs and as a result does not get an DHCP assigned IP address. I really think that it should periodically check for an active DHCP server if no lease has been assigned.
It is also frustrating that there is no option to renew the the DHCP request. You either have to go into the command line or reboot the router… Not good options… Is this a bug or by design… Can either a bug or feature request be made to fix this??

This may help.
