I am trying to update my IPFire box to 188 and the download is taking ages. Max download speed see was just over 950 kbit/s and the average seems to be about 250 kbit/s.
EDIT: And as soon as I post this the speed picks up and it finishes.
There are a lot of package updates etc in CU188 and so there are many files being updated on the system.
The time can also be influenced by a slow hdd or memory card if on a RPi.
However good that it has finished now.

We have mirror servers all over the world. It might be that you land on a rather busy one and so the download is a little bit slower. Usually we test the mirrors for that and only put fast ones on the list, but it is difficult to account for temporary problems.
