Core 195 regression: freeradius crash, libssl version mismatch

Hi there, I had to reopen my bug 13590 – Freeradius not starting: libssl version mismatch from 2024-02-15 because of a libssl version mismatch that prevent Freeradius from starting.

# /usr/sbin/radiusd -X 2>&1 | tee /var/log/radius/debug.1.log libssl version mismatch. built: 30400000 linked: 30500000

It’s all in the bug. Thanks for reading!

Hello,

thank you for your bug report, but if it is already bug in Bugzilla there is no need to create a forum post as well. This just creates more work for us.

Ok sorry, but I thought it could be useful for other forum members to know there already has been a bug filed if they experience the same problem and start searching here an not in Bugzilla…

Sometimes, but I hope that people are checking the bug tracker before they are posting about anything here…

Sample size of one…
I’m not looking into bug tracker if I have a problem, so for my simple user case this post is actually useful on two layers:
1: someone had my same issue (of course not this one but… )
2: someone already did the nice job of reporting (and i will know it)

Of course you can post about something here where you are not sure whether something is a bug or simply a misconfiguration. You never know. Sometimes you need support and that is what this forum is for.

But it is not here to report bugs. We need Bugzilla for that because it is impossible to use the forum as a tracker. It does not contain history well, it does not contain status. Sometimes threads are hundreds of posts long and it is impossible to find the information that is needed quickly.

I miss the part where i wrote “bugzilla report should not be used in the proper way and post only here your experience”…

What experience are you talking about?
