Cannot install squidguard addon

Hello,

I cannot find squidguard in the repositories
please help me find and install it somehow

i’ve downloaded and installed and configured IPFire server, but i cannot find and install squidguard.

i want to create a firewall that filters everything that passes through the firewall using Romanian slang and … bad words… like a parental control feature.

this is the version I installed and configured:

IPFire 2.29 - Core Update 192

Released March 11

also squid and pfBlockerNG would be nice

Please help,
Kind Regards,
Cristian

Hi Christian,

Look at https://www.ipfire.org/docs/configuration/network/proxy

There you‘ll find a lot of helpful information.

Squidguard is integrated with Squid and both are part of the core install of IPFire.

In the WUI (Web User Interface) go to the menu item Network - Web Proxy and that is the page for configuring squid.

See the documentation
https://www.ipfire.org/docs/configuration/network/proxy

The IP Block List function is also part of the core install of IPFire.

Find it in the WUI Menu Firewall - IP Adress Blocklists

See the documentation
https://www.ipfire.org/docs/configuration/firewall/ipblocklist

Thanks!

I found the “custom blacklist” and “custom expression list” under “URL filter configuration”.

My question is: if lets’s say I put a bad word in YouTube search box or Facebook search box and I press enter for example, does that word passes through the IPFire firewall and the page gets blocked?
Or any other search box or box generally any box, form, and so on…

Thanks a lot!
Best regards!

The contents of the request can usually not be parsed. HTTPS traffic ( what is usual nowadays ) is encrypted. IPFire does no MITM tasks.

So I will search further. Thanks a lot for answering me.

On the Domain Name System page there is “safe search”
