Browser login problem

Firefox and Palemoon come back to the login every time with those 2 browsers.
https://192.168.10.206:444 is requesting your username and password. The site says: “IPFire - Restricted”

Unauthorized
This server could not verify that you are authorized to access the document requested.
Either you supplied the wrong credentials (e.g bad password), or your browser doesn’t understand how to supply the credentials required.

No problem with Waterfox-classic but latest Waterfox-G3 has the same problem.

Having no problem with Firefox, for years; I suppose you use ‘unusual’ characters in your password which are not transfered right from FF to Ipfire.

Just using an 8 character password with a mixture of lowercase letters and numbers.

Happens with every browser I use on any of 5 PC’s running openSUSE, Kubuntu 20.04.2 and Fedora 33.
Also on 5 SBC’s running Ubuntu ARM and RasPiOS.

After a reboot, the web interface port 444 and ssh to port 222 are just fine.
About an hour later all fails with the same with tty messages repeated:
INIT: cannot execute “/sbin/agetty”
INIT: “id1” respawing too fast: disabled for 5 minutes

can you check permissions on that file …

-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 57456 Sep 18 2019 /sbin/agetty

I replaced the USB hard drive with a SATA hard drive, installed and configured IPFire and all problems vanished.
