Yes, they were exploitable, hence the update.
Question is if the attacker needs to gain direct access to the maschine or not, for instance.
Could i be attacked from the Internet is another question.

No they are not. An attacker needs to be able to inject code and execute that. However if they manage to do that, the damage is so much worse because even with little privileges, a lot of information can be leaked.
So you will need to patch as quickly as possible.
