Hi Carlo,
I made the logo using the InkScape software which is fully open source, and free. But I used the tux logo from File:Tux Classic flat look v1.1.svg - Wikimedia Commons, which is not copyrighted in any way.
Thanks
This is a little logo that I made for IPFire , it is not perfect but I like it.
Nice
I’ve always thought it odd that the IPFire logo looks like a poor penguin on fire - not the most attractive image for a product!
Your logo manages a nod to the old logo but without engulfing the penguin in fire. And the text is good too.
Maybe there should be a new logo competition and users can vote for which they prefer (including keeping the old logo).
Hi praful,
About the “burning” penguin, yes it kinda looks like that , and it is also not too minimalistic for today’s design
. Maybe they should make a logo competition (but idk how much people will enter it, also AI shouldn’t be allowed), openSUSE made a similar one, with the option to keep their current logo. Also the font which I used is Inter, it is also not copyrighted and it is open source.
Bye
IPfire without the penguin.
Looks better and easier to have on page.
I get you Daniel.
It’s been so cold, every time I look at the penguin, I start shivering
I also think that the logo should change during the winter season so here is my contribution:
nice, hope you don’t mine if I help myself using one of these here as an avatar. Just have to figureout how to change “DM” but it does look cool on the card.
we should have customizable themes from pak addons. options are never wrong. we should be able to choose like linux has for desktops themes.
Part of being open source is having the ability to make your own changes. The devs are swamped with more critical issues to fix and improvements to make. Anyone with the skills can offer to submit a patch for for this for approval.
It’s easy to say “we should…” but that takes man hours and when resources are limited, the man hours will be prioritized by security and functionality over aesthetics.
