WiFi - Everything is 40 Mhz

Been running ipfire for years with custom HTCAPS and VHTCAPS

Some time ago the UI changed and I can’t access those settings any more. Fine by me - figuring out the settings for my card (Compex WLE200NX) was kind of annoying.

But now I’ve got the following funny effect: changing the Wireless Mode always gives me a 40 MHz band - regardless of my choice.

Guess there is some relic in the config still active… no idea where to look… /var/ipfire/wlanap/hostapd.conf and /var/ipfire/wlanap/settings look alright to me. Changing the Wireless Mode in the UI changes the MODE property in settings to the appropriate value.

you really sure that the ‘low-entry’ WLE200NX with AR9280 Chipset is supporting 80MHz?

After a quick search, I can’t find a definitive answer to this

my WLE600VX with AR9882 works without any Issues on 80MHz with the re-designed WebGUI - but have to reload & restart hotsapd few times via GUI before

No, it only supports 20 and 40 MHz. But selecting 20 Mhz in the UI still gives me a 40 Mhz band.

The current CU doesn’t set 20MHz. To be exact, it sets 40MHz always.
But a patch exists in git. So the upcoming CUs should do it alright.
