hello guys.
after updating to cu188 my wireless access point doesnt work any more. well all seems so work right when i check the web interface, but my ssid doesnt appear, neither on my phone nor on laptops.
its also new that changing parameters, eg ‘neighbourhood scan’ or ‘broadcast ssid’ automatically change to true after pressing the save button. If i choose country code ‘00’ the access point doesnt start at all.
i also have to say that i never used any HT caps or VHT caps so far so i dont have parameters there.
i am using an APU board with a WLE200NX wireless card but i also tried a WLE600VX just to check if its an hardware issue.
when i logged in i expected some posts about this because i thought the new version of ‘wireless access point’ could be the reason but it seems im the only one.
Thank, you. editing wlanap.cgi gives access to all parameters without having them disabled automatically when saving.
sadly my wlan ssid still doesnt appear anywhere although i have it ‘running’ on my web interface. maybe a hardware problem nevertheless…
funny because apu boards were always quite rubust, i built a few.
The setting about SSID in wlanap.cgi is misleading.
With checked box ‘HIDESSID’ in settings is set to on, resulting in suppression of SSID broadcast. HIDESSID=off is the right setting.
my problem must be different because my phone and laptop have saved my wlan for a long time so redgardless of ssid broadcast or not they should connect anyways.
setting on or off, no wlan…
in my case my phone and laptop react like there is no wlan at all and probably they are right. i will let you know when i find out whats going on.
If you have “HIDESSID” activated, so no broadcasting of the SSID, then your WIFI-network (at least when it works normal in other respects) will show up for potential clients as “hidden network” or “faded network” (I don’t know how it’s called in english, in german it’s “Ausgeblendetes Netzwerk”).
So the auto-connection will not work despite sent beacons from the clients because they don’t know that the “hidden” network is there known and trusted one.
