Supported hardware for WiFi 6 GHz band

The latest release, 203, apparently supports the 6 GHz WiFi band for the access point. Does anyone know what hardware has this been tested on? I’m interested in purchasing a supported mini PCIE card to make use of this.

A bit late, but I have gotten the MEDIATEK Corp. MT7921K Wi-Fi 6E card to work. There are a whole host of options that appear when configuring, not sure which work best.

I have successfully been able to get 802.11ax at 5GHz with a bandwidth 40 MHz to work with most of my devices, but if you have a mixture of WiFi protocols on your clients then you will be limited in what is available. While 802.11be @ 20 to 320 MHz bandwidth is available in the drop down menu, the wireless mode that will work is the lowest common denominator of the devices that you want to connect. At least that is how it looks to me. If someone knows how to get it to work better or with a multi frequency, let us all know.

Hello Simon,

there is currently not a lot of hardware available that supports 6 GHz WiFi, but we will soon be releasing something that we fully support in IPFire.
