Hello again, I try to made some tweaks on newly instaled IPFIRE machine. I want to schedule internet access for my kids. Also to monitor(sniff) what my kids access over the internet. Can someone help me? Thanks, great job guys!
Time constraints for specific MACs or IPs can be set with FW rules.
But to cut the connection at a specific time requests a firewall restart. Stateful inspection firewalls like IPFire allow all established connections, so a deny rule is applied to new connections only. For web access you can define similiar time constraints in the proxy configuration. These are active for all traffic going through the proxy ( this demands that the clients use the proxy! ).
For monitoring the traffic of single devices ( IP or MAC based ) try the pmacct addon .
