Running script at startup

Real novice here…

After moving, upgraded my 10+ year old system to a Dell 7010 and latest ipFire release. Onboard nic seems to have a know issue. See here…

Running this at command prompt solves my issue…

ethtool -K eth0 gso off gro off tso off

Would like to run this in some type of script anytime system restarts, but do not know how.

Any help would be appreciated.

Dan

Hi,

welcome to the IPFire community.

You can do so by placing this command in firewall.local, which is sort of a placeholder script for IPFire configurations that cannot be made through the GUI. Please refer to this wiki page for its documentation.

(Disclaimer: Please be careful when editing it, especially when it comes to custom iptables rules. Most “security vulnerabilities” reported back to us eventually turned out to be misconfigurations, or overcredulous custom firewall rules placed in firewall.local.)

Thanks, and best regards,
Peter Müller
