Problem with Pakfire update

Hello I hope you are well, I have a pi r1 banana board, for quite some time and until yesterday it worked perfectly, unfortunately the hard drive was damaged and I had to reinstall everything, the latest version that I found on the site that has “console” (it cannot be installed another way) and the core 120… I did not find another version with the terminal option included… the problem I have now is that it does not let me update, before asking I tried all the options of the site, changing DNS etc… but I can’t figure it out…

Please yuou help

We have no extra console images because this works with the normal images.
But the bananapi R1 is special. It need a matching bootloader and a devicetree entry in uEnv.txt.

Thanks for the answer, unfortunately I tried to install with the latest version, modifying the file as you mentioned, but it doesn’t start… (or green life light) it doesn’t do anything… the only version that worked was the version that It has the console option.

Isn’t there a newer version with the console option? I searched the repositories and the only version is 160…

Thank you!

160 = 120… sorry

core 120 is way too old to be worth resolving.

If you are using a SATA hard drive, then I found that SATA is currently not working from core 159 on, on Banana Pi. You could backup your settings and download the file to your PC, then reinstall core 158.

If you are running from uSD card, then core 162 is working on Banana Pi.

Yes. All images have this since we have changed the name.
There is no image without the console option.

Then you have not copied the bananapi bootloader. Even an empty sdcard with correct bootloader will start into u-boot on HDMI and console.

check around the dd commandline on the wiki page.

Hello, thanks for your answer, indeed I followed the steps of the guide and finally I was able to reinstall ipfire, the only inconvenience I found was that I could leave files on the hard disk to improve the start, not having problems with the writing of the sd memory and improve space, is there any way (guide) to perform this configuration?

Thanks for the help.

it is outlined in: SATA on Bananapi.

But note my comment above that it was not working with 5.15.n kernels

Hello, I was finally able to leave my ip-fire the same! Boot from the sd and then continue with the hard drive.

Is pakfire.ipfire.org working, I get an access error even while outside my network…

Hi,

indeed, that just returns a 503 error for me too.

Zut alors - I am at it and will report back.

EDIT: Service should be back online. The 503 error for the root page persists, but does not do any harm, since IPFire 2.x fetches necessary files from subdirectories. The backend for Pakfire 3 (used for IPFire 3.x) is currently down due to operational constraints.

Thanks, and best regards,
Peter Müller

Thanks, glad is was not just my setup, I will standby

I see the update now, thanks.
