New card for the blue network

Hello
at an IPFire installation I had to change the wifi network card.
the new one despite being recognized in setup and associated with the blue network, when I go to configure it from the web interface it tells me that there is no network card.
the card is one of those compatible with the system
What could it be

Hi Umberto,

i have no blue running at the moment but i know the problem from the past.
You know that not every wireless card can be used as a wlan accesspoint?
Can you give us some more infos about the card?
Have you read the wiki page:

The driver and hardware infos can help to understand the problem or reason for your problem.

My new card is this, Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260 (rev 73)
if I go to setup I see it and associate its mac address to the blue network but when I go to finish the configuration in the web interface it tells me that it cannot find the network card

the old card was fully functional and without problems

Hello Umberto.

can you see something in your logfiles?
My first look would be /var/log/bootlog and /var/log/messages.
Eventually you can see some warnings or error messages with the interface.

That card will not work as an AP on 5GHz.

from Arne.F
Not really it is a Intel/US government decision to not let the user configure the country code of the hardware. A card that has programmed country code “00” will not work with linux in 5Ghz AP mode and the firmware not allow to set the region. You need a correct programmed card for you county.

Intel cards only works in client mode at 5Ghz if they are set to “00”
that is the reason why we not suggest to by Intel wlan cards.

I ran into the same issue with one I had laying around, I instead got two ceiling mounted AP’s.

This card TP-Link AC1200 PCIe WiFi Card(Archer T4E)- 2.4G/5G worked at 5g only in my ipfire with these as settings file in /var/ipfire/wlanap. If this can helps you on finding a card for 5g connections.
