Monitoring IPfire itself

Hi Guys,

is there an official way to monitor IPfire itself, perhaps with nagios only for the IPfire and not with NRP for other systems inside the LAN?
Or would it be the right way to install NRP?
What are the experiences?

Regards,

Jan

I use and can recommend SNMP.

We have netsnmpd as an add-on.

Hm didn’t even know about it. Is that agent/client only? Wiki hasn’t got many information about that addon.

Both, the server and client components are coming with that package.

I would have needed that 2 days ago. The system hang (not even the shell cursor was blinking anymore) and nobody knew about it but wondered that the network failed completely :face_with_hand_over_mouth:. But I think it was hardware-related.
