These are the instructions to install a [mail server](https://wiki.ipfire.org/addons/mailserver), or an [email proxy server](https://wiki.ipfire.org/optimization/mailproxy), using [postfix](https://wiki.ipfire.org/addons/postfix).

[A simple Mail Transfer Agent](https://wiki.ipfire.org/configuration/system/mail_service) is integrated with IPFire (called [DMA](https://wiki.ipfire.org/configuration/services/dma), or [DragonfLy MTA](https://www.dragonflybsd.org/handbook/mta/)) and you can use [shell scripts](https://community.ipfire.org/t/sending-emails-with-dma/5734/1) ([another example](https://community.ipfire.org/t/apcupsd-email/6320/1)) for more complex configuration settings.
