I’ve just installed IPFire for the first time and am going through the WebGUI and trying to get things set up. When on the IPS screen, it shows that it is stopped, but I don’t have a way to start it. I know that the documentation shows a checkbox that I can click to start the IPS, but I don’t have that option, unless I’m in the wrong spot. How do I enable the IPS? I’ve attached a screenshot of what I’m seeing.
Hi, welcome to the forum.
Add a ruleset Provider first (button under Rulesets).
I’ve tried adding every rule, and each time I received a similar error message to the one I’ve attached.

Try adding just the EmergingThreats Community Provider initially. It looks like one of the providers is failing when you are trying to add them all.
Just to clarify, I’m not trying to add all of the rules all at one, I’ve tried going through and adding each rule individually and I get an error each time. Here is the error I get when I try and add the Emerging Threats Community Provider.
Not sure if something with in the system is blocking me from adding a ruleset or maybe my ISP is blocking the traffic. I’ve not made any changes to system as of yet, was trying to get the IPS up and then work on adding firewall rules and make other changes to help further secure my home network.
Thank you for your assistance so far.

Thank you, it was a DNS problem. IPS is up and running now.
