IPFire 2.29 Latest update core 198 weirdness

I updated to the latest on Friday.

I was at a Library and went to sign on and noticed a bit of weirdness. I connected to my device, received an IP but could not ping the gateway (.1). Dropped the connection a few times, turning off wifi on laptop then tried to reconnect. Same issue.

So I reset the device and then received an IP and was able to ping the .1 gateway. But I noticed going to the admin console, the connection dropped randomly.

Not sure if if is the new core update or if the Rpi4 device was just acting finicky. In the previous release, no issues.

I even unplugged my WiFi sticks and reconnected them after shutting down the device.

Not sure if the latest Core update was doing this or the device’s USB’s were just picky.

.198 core is the only update that this was happening on.

Thoughts ?

You’re not sure about anything and didn’t check the log files. So what?

Logs showed nothing out of the ordinary. I would NOT post this question without doing some investigation first.

Wondering if anyone else has experienced anything like this with .198 ?
