How to correct the error /dev/sda3 disk full

I am receiving the File system /dev/sda3 full. How to I correct this issue as it is keeping me from updating IPFire to the latest core.

Your problem is similar to Filesystem full: /dev/sda1 after update to 142

As explained there, the solution is to do a fresh install, then restore backup

Figured, I was pretty sure it was due to the bug that was in the previous version as this system was way out of date. I have already completed a backup of all the settings and was planning on doing a clean fresh install then just restore the settings.
