Hi,
just discovered a new bug within HOSTS configuration (recently).
The WebIF allows adding host names with space in their name. I could successfully add a new host like in this screenshot
Right after the WebIf saved this name to its internal custom file and obviously tried to rebuild the hosts file, DNS stopped working, similar like in the old thread, linked above.
What’s even worse, I’ve modified this faulty entry in WebIF again and removed the space character. To my surprise, DNS still did not work!
I now opened a SSH session and executed the commands:
/usr/local/bin/rebuildhosts
/usr/local/bin/unboundctrl restart
Afterwards, DNS works well again.
