Hostapd file for WLE900VX

I have a WLE900VX wireless card that is maxing out just over 200 Mbps on an internet connection that is over 600 Mbps.

It appears that my HT Caps and VHT Caps under IPFire → WLAN AP are not configured properly:

HT Caps:

[HT40-][LDPC][SHORT-GI-20][SHORT-GI-40][TX-STBC][RX-STBC1][DSSS_CCK-40][SMPS-STATIC]

VHT Caps:

Wireless stops working whenever I put anything in the VHT Caps section.

I’ve check the hardware compatibility page and found that the WLE900VX is not listed. However, I know from other posts that others are successfully using this card.

I was therefore wondering if someone who is using a WLE900VX would share their hostapd file or if that is not possible, then the HT and VHT Caps strings.

Is anybody able to assist me here?

Hi,

sorry, can’t help you with this, but did you know this thread? Perhaps it helps…

HTH,
Matthias

Ty @mfischer for the link. My German is not that great, but it appears that they have the same issue that I’m having (and it was never answered) … finding the correct hostapd file to get ac wireless working with this card.

@arne_f, I believe that you mentioned previously that you use this card. Do you have ac wireless working well? If so, are you able to share your hostapd file?

It was a year ago that i have tested this card (not on my APU2) I have the two antenna version. (WLE600xx)
I have not changed anything on the hostapd config the default config has to work (maybee not at full speeds)

Please post the output of lspci we have often seen buggy detections like device id “ABCD” in this case the card was not correct seated in the slot.

Try this:

HT Caps:

[LDPC][HT40+][SMPS-STATIC][SHORT-GI-20][SHORT-GI-40][TX-STBC][RX-STBC1][MAX-AMSDU-7935][DSSS_CCK-40]

VHT Caps:

[MAX-MPDU-11454][RXLDPC][SHORT-GI-80][RX-STBC-1][RX-ANTENNA-PATTERN]

After editing the two files, don’t change a field in the webgui !! Only restart is allowed, otherwise the files will be overwritten.

Why can this not be set using the web UI?

ty @frickelpit for the Caps and files.

Unfortunately my download speed still cannot exceed 220 Mbps. I was wondering what is your download speed using these settings?

Both of my mobile devices (Oneplus 5, Samsung SM-T713 Tablet) show me a connection speed of 866 Mbit/s. I use the WLE600VX card with this settings. It could be, that the WLE900VX need other settings.

After restart with handmade/additional settings in the two files, sometimes hostapd didn’t start, when i change settings over the webgui.

I think you are correct, it appears that the WLE900VX card requires different settings.

Anybody have any suggestions on how I can determine the proper settings for the WLE900VX?
